We're a co-op
Salamander News is a co-op, democratically controlled by our members.
We are London's only news co-op, and following in footsteps of other media co-ops around the UK including The Bristol Cable, The Leicester Gazette and Scotland's Ferret.
Our members help decide our focus and strategy, and make sure that we cover the issues that matter to local communities.
We held our first co-op general meeting in December 2025 and our first AGM in February 2026.
The events were a chance for co-op members to meet and we began the discussion on how we can grow, while keeping our values.
We plan to hold other members' events after the local elections.
Our next AGM will be February 2027, all members will be invited to stand for election as director, if they want. They can also vote for directors, help choose our topics and shape our strategy.
Reader membership starts from just £2 per month. Please join us, become a co-owner of the co-op and help shape our future.
